This is generally a false statement but actually lies in the gray area between true and false. What people don’t seem to realize is that android is designed to have a large number of tasks stored in memory at all times. Why? Well basically we are talking about a mobile device. On a mobile device things tend to be slower. The hardware isn’t as robust as say a desktop or a laptop, so in order to get that same “snappy” feeling, there have to be workarounds.

One of these is how android deals with memory. Android will load up your apps and then keep them running until they absolutely HAVE to kill them. This is because that way, if you want to re-open an app, the system already has it loaded and can then just resume it instead of reloading it. This provides a significant performance increase.

What a lot of people don’t realize as well is that android kernels have their own task manager. This means that:

1. it will be more efficient than any app-based task manager as it is run at the kernel level, and
2. it should be left up to that task killer to decide when to free up memory

There is only one case where having a task killer is a good idea, and that is when you want to kill ONE SPECIFIC APP. Killing all apps is never a good idea. You don’t know what operations they are performing or if they are necessary.

Nothing to see here on this part… I just hate it when people ask me what Task killer I use….  STOP!!  it’s like having antivirus on the phone… if ya know how the system works… you don’t need it..  Idiots!

Getting a House or:

How I learned how to hate Renting and Love The Taxes.

Ok so, we are looking in to getting a house! Getting a house is a big thing!  As they say for the average person (though I am above average) getting a house is more than likely the biggest investment that a person will make. Along with the money investment is a time investment and for us, a relationship investment.

Do you think we are doing the right thing?

Well that is all up to you. Everyone has an opinion, just like everyone has something else, you know, ends with hole!  But I feel that at the end of this rant, nay, explanation. I hope that some opinions might change and others educated.

Are we doing the right thing? Oh who knows?!?!  But what I will say is this. I have been renting or have been living in a rented place for most of my life.  the last time I lived in a house that I or my parents owned was back before i was like.. 7 i think??  And that house we only lived in for like 2 to 3 years at most. That house was on Route 96, it was built right behind the trailer that was on the property for some time.  After the house was lost and I moved in to Canandaigua I have been renting ever since. Now that I am (going to be) 31 it’s about time I start looking in to doing this. A place to finally call home, not one that I am just borrowing for just 12 months at a time. Not a place that i have to ask to do something. It’s like living with Mom and Dad all over again.

But this isn’t just about me though. Dani, I’ve been together with her for going on a year. She has been living with me for about the same amount of time as well. Sure since day 1 (or maybe even before) of us dating I never wanted her to go home for the night. Despite what she thinks, even to this day I love having her around. I want her to be around for much much longer as well! Conventionally a couple, after some time together, lets say like two years, propose and get married, and then by the end of the 3rd year they are married.  Year 4 or 5, house acquired.  For us, not going to happen like that. Why the rush for the house? For me, It’s not a rush, its more like about damn time!!!  For Us, yes it may be a little early however, the process I would like this to follow I feel is a smart way.

First, names on dotted lines. Even if we were married personally I would only like to have one name on the dotted lines. Now I am not saying that I don’t love this woman at all, or she doesn’t love me just saying if by chance for some reason things just do not work out, Celebs like to call this “irreconcilable differences”, the process will be less bitter for both parties involved. I will never hold it over her head if the house is just in my name as i hope that she would never hold it over my head if it was all in her name. while we are together for the rest of our lives, it’ll be our house! (Though I just get the basement and hopefully a garage!)

Second! So why the house and the rush?  Well duh people! Money, money, money!!! The place where we live now is “ok”. I think Dani would use something a little more hash than “ok”, she has every right too!  Our lease is up in October, rent is 650.  Finding a new place to rent sucks, any place that is halfway decent is like some 750 to 800+ for a TWO room apartment.  For that kinda money I think it is better invested in a house. Sure i could move in to one of those apartments but heck, now that i’m spending more in rent that means i have to save even longer for a house.  Simple math ex. I have $400 spare each month. if rent goes up by $200, that means i only have $200 to spare.. will take twice as long to save, lets say, $2000!  Besides, the market is pretty good for the buyer, lotta homes for sale, government is handing out money like crazy.  So why not?  My only concern is what to do by November 1? Last day we can be in our apartment is Oct 31!  lol. Mommy? Daddy?  Anyone? Might need a place to crash for a month or two!

Third? I dunno, whats third?  I’ve been rambling for so long. Marriage? Hell yeah I plan on marrying this woman. She knows it, She’s chomping at the bit for it. I keep telling her, If i spend $400 on a ring now, that means thats $400 less now to be able to pay for an inspection or lawyer fee and so on.  So we’ll get the house, go broke getting our toys for it.. then once were done… and i got like $50 bucks to spare, I’ll see what kinda stone i can get off the black market and get it mounted.  Just for my love!!!  No but really. She’ll get her ring, you guys will get your party!  I too old to play around and say something like this unless i mean it. House, marriage, family,  it’s all coming.  I don’t believe in divorce, Any problem can be overcome together.  It takes a stronger person to ride out the storm than to jump ship and just hope you make it. I feel i am that stronger person.  So baby, your stuck with me, nows your chance to run, cause i’m not running!  lol

With all that said.. I need to stop. I think everyone is tired of reading this.  questions, comments, concerns?  I am all ears!

Through the whole process it was definitely a pain in the butt. Well of to my next little project on my to do list.

You know, often when I’m drinking a beer while sitting on my couch and staring off into space for hours in an attempt to make the darkness and pain I’ve tried so long to keep bottled up in the depths of my heart from bubbling up to the surface, I sometimes think to myself, “Man, if only this beer was stronger and I were drinking it out of a stuffed roadkill coozie. THEN maybe I could get my life back on track.”
